Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Endocrinologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). This is an exciting opportunity to expand our diabetes and endocrine team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with endocrine conditions, both in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary diabetes and endocrine teams to develop pathways and provide multidisciplinary care.
  • Work with colleagues across specialities to develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Participate in 1:4 rotational shared care of a diabetes/general medical ward.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, contributing to their development and training.
  • Contribute to audit, clinical governance, and service development.
  • Support participation in research and clinical trials.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, case presentations, and teaching sessions for medical students and doctors in training.

Requirements
  • Basic medical degree
  • Appropriate specialist qualification (SCE Endocrinology)
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • CCT in Specialty or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification
