Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Endocrinologist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). This is a new post being created to expand our diabetes and endocrine team, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Consultant colleague to provide exceptional healthcare and make a significant impact on the lives of patients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes, you will play a crucial role in our team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert clinical care to patients with endocrine conditions, both in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
  • Collaborating with our multidisciplinary diabetes and endocrine teams.
  • Working with colleagues across specialities to develop pathways and provide multidisciplinary care.
  • Participating in 1:4 rotational shared care of a diabetes/general medical ward.
  • Speciality consults and supervision of Speciality Registrars.
  • 1:9 general medicine weekend, weekday and Bank holiday cover.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior medical staff, contributing to their development and training.
  • Contributing to audit, clinical governance and service development.
  • Support participation in research and clinical trials.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, case presentations, and teaching sessions for medical students and doctors in training.
