Job Title: Welfare and Funding Officer

Sandwell College is a leading educational institution in the West Midlands region, offering a diverse range of courses and programs to cater to various interests and career aspirations. We are currently recruiting for a Welfare and Funding Officer to take on the responsibility for the reconciliation of the Learner Support (LSF) accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside our Financial Accountant to make day-to-day disbursements for Free School Meals funding, Learning Support Funds, Adult Hardship Funds, and other sources of funding.
  • Manage and reconcile Learner Support (LSF) accounts, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and resolve financial discrepancies, ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience of using specific finance software, such as Business World.
  • Ability to work in a complex, busy work environment.
  • GCSE standard (or equivalent) and a Level 3 Business or Finance qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
