Job Title: Welfare and Funding OfficerAbout the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welfare and Funding Officer to join our team at Sandwell College. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the reconciliation of Learner Support (LSF) accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our Financial Accountant to make day-to-day disbursements for Free School Meals funding, Learning Support Funds, Adult Hardship Funds, and other sources of funding.
  • Utilize specific finance software, such as Business World, to manage and reconcile financial transactions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining high standards of financial management and control.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance operations.
Requirements
  • GCSE standard (or equivalent) and a Level 3 Business or Finance qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
  • Experience of using finance software, such as Business World.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
