Job Summary
Safran Landing Systems is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Process Technician to join our team in Gloucester. As a key member of our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our landing and braking systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and analyze vat solutions associated with salvage activities, with a focus on electroplating and zinc nickel processes.
- Compile and publish vat analysis data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation and testing of test panels, salt spray checks, Lawrence Gauge Analysis, and paint strip controls.
- Assist in the control and procurement of processing chemicals, ensuring compliance with COMAH requirements.
- Work with supervision and engineering to resolve issues related to chemistry and ancillary equipment.
- Review and optimize Process Control Specifications to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Maintain and refine existing Works Procedures, and develop new ones as needed.
- Support new product and process compliance, including chemistry-based gap analysis and related activities.
- Provide laboratory support for internal and external audits, and contribute to quality management system initiatives.
- Collaborate with the laboratory team to manage the Metal Finishing Facility (MFF) plating plant, including planned preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- Substantive experience in engineering, plating, or a related field, ideally in the aerospace or automotive sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electroplating and its associated techniques.
- Ability to read and understand specifications and regulatory documentation.
- Strong process knowledge and experience with COSHH and chemical management.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a keen sense of quality and attention to detail.
- Good IT and mathematical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
