Our data centre is located in a secure and accessible location.

Terms:

We offer a continental shift pattern, with days and nights from 07:00am to 07:00pm.

Salary/Rate:

The salary for this role is £48,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. NVQ Electrical Installations Level 2/3
  2. C&G Electrical Installations Level 2/3
  3. 18th Edition - desired
  4. HV/AP - desired
About the Role:

As a Data Centre Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out technical maintenance, repairs, and installations, as well as providing first and second-line support in our data centre. This will involve monitoring buildings, environmental conditions, and relevant systems, as well as technical equipment, and reporting issues to minimise downtime and ensure maximum performance. You will also be responsible for overseeing contractor work, ensuring they follow health and safety procedures, and documenting the results. Your role will involve routine preventative maintenance, highlighting potential risks, and reacting to immediate issues to ensure our data centre meets all customer needs.

Responsibilities:
  1. Proven engineering experience of air conditioning, UPS, generators, and LV systems
  2. Experience of working as a technician in an electrical or industrial environment
  3. Strong technical fault-finding skills using graphical information and alarm data
  4. A thorough, accurate approach to completing tasks
  5. Good communication skills in English, including report writing
  6. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  7. A can-do attitude, with the drive to take on new responsibilities
