Job Description:
As a Data Centre Shift Leader / Shift Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the uptime, availability, and reliability of our data center operations. You will oversee maintenance activities within the data center environment, ensuring they meet or exceed defined SLAs and adhere to company policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment and systems under a rigorous change management system to achieve 100% uptime availability. You will also monitor and troubleshoot all site/plant equipment support systems, including incidents, problems, changes, monitoring, escalation, notification, and resolution. Additionally, you will manage mechanical and electrical plant and systems, HVAC systems, generators, UPS, fire alarms, suppression systems, low and high voltage switching, water systems, and associated equipment. You will coordinate sub-contracted resources as needed to deliver safe and quality service. Requirements include an Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent, X forces Engineering Qualification and experience, High-Pressure Precision Engineering experience, HND in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent, Critical Environment / Data Centre background, Professional electrical or mechanical certification, and experience in troubleshooting/repair of low & medium voltage electrical systems and mechanical/HVAC systems. You will also need to have knowledge and ability to apply safe electrical practices according to guidelines/regulations. Candidate Attributes and Characteristics include aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving complex issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ability to follow procedures, system documentation, and track issues through appropriate entries into a Service Desk Ticketing system.
