Job Description:
As a Data Centre Shift Leader / Shift Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the uptime, availability, and reliability of our data center operations. You'll oversee maintenance activities within the data center environment, ensuring they meet or exceed defined SLAs and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  1. Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment and systems under a rigorous change management system to achieve 100% uptime availability.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot all site/plant equipment support systems, including incidents, problems, changes, monitoring, escalation, notification, and resolution.
  3. Manage mechanical and electrical plant and systems, HVAC systems, generators, UPS, fire alarms, suppression systems, low and high voltage switching, water systems, and associated equipment.
  4. Coordinate sub-contracted resources as needed to deliver safe and quality service.

Requirements:

  1. Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  2. X forces Engineering Qualification and experience.
  3. High-Pressure Precision Engineering experience.
  4. HND in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent (desirable).
  5. Critical Environment / Data Centre background (desirable).
  6. Professional electrical or mechanical certification (National Craft Certificate, Registered Electrical/Mechanical Contractor, or equivalent).
  7. Experience in troubleshooting/repair of low & medium voltage electrical systems.
  8. Experience in troubleshooting/repair of mechanical/HVAC systems.
  9. Knowledge and ability to apply safe electrical practices according to guidelines/regulations.

Candidate Attributes and Characteristics:

  1. Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving complex issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  2. Ability to follow procedures, system documentation, and track issues through appropriate entries into a Service Desk Ticketing system.
