Manchester, United Kingdom Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Making a difference in the lives of thousands of babies born at St Mary's Hospital is a rewarding career opportunity. As a registered midwife, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of these newborns and their families.

The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) Corporate Safeguarding team is seeking a dedicated individual to join our fast-paced and dynamic workplace. Located within the antenatal clinic at St Mary's maternity hospital, this role offers a unique chance to work with mothers, their families, and other agencies to ensure the highest standards of care.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing expert advice to ward midwives caring for inpatients and community midwives encountering safeguarding concerns in clinics and home settings. You will also maintain a visible presence in clinical areas, ensuring that St Mary's staff are supported to represent the Trust at multi-agency meetings.

This role presents an excellent opportunity to develop close working relationships with safeguarding midwives across MFT and Greater Manchester. With time, you will develop training skills and participate in the delivery of Level 3 Safeguarding Training in collaboration with the wider trust safeguarding team.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £43,041 - £71,604 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. In addition to a generous compensation package, we provide opportunities for professional growth and development, including ongoing training and support.

At MFT, we value diversity and inclusion, and we are committed to creating a culture where everyone feels welcome and valued. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply for this role, knowing that diverse perspectives bring innovative ideas and better outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A qualified midwife with experience in safeguarding, preferably within maternity services, is essential. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and are eager to take on new challenges, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity.
