Job Title: IPS Employment Specialist

Salary: £27,000 - £28,500 per annum (25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme)

Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IPS Employment Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting unemployed customers with mental health and additional barriers to work into employment and those currently off sick to return to the workplace.

  • Manage a caseload of customers who present with multiple barriers, including mental health, disabilities, drug/alcohol, ex-offenders, lack of skills etc.
  • Conduct thorough initial assessments with new customers to identify their barriers, skills or training needs.
  • Agree SMART actions with each customer, meeting them regularly to manage progress and ensure they move closer to being work-ready.
  • Liaise with employers to identify new employment opportunities and promote them to customers or help them return to the workplace.
  • Deliver up to 6 months in-work support to customers who successfully secure employment.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience as an Employment Advisor/Job Coach with a proven track record in supporting unemployed customers into work.
  • Experience creating SMART Action Plans.
  • Skills in managing complex job seekers through person-centric interventions, helping them move closer to the labour market.
  • A proven record in employer engagement, identifying new job opportunities and supporting customers with applications, interviews, offers, and regrets.
  • A valid driver's license and access to your own vehicle.
