Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and assessments of civil engineering structures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to licensees on matters related to civil engineering and structural integrity.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with civil engineering structures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in civil engineering and structural integrity.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in civil and/or structural engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Experience in structural design, foundation design, and geotechnical engineering.
  • Knowledge of nuclear and high-hazard facilities.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and influencing skills.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must hold or be able to achieve and retain National Security Vetting clearance at SC level.

Location

This post may be undertaken from a base at any one of ONR's office locations.

This post requires some travel, including overnight stays, predominantly across the UK and occasionally abroad.
