Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team at Westgate House Care Centre in Ware, Hertfordshire.

About the Role
  • Identify residents' activity needs and preferences through discussion, assessment, and observation, and create a diverse program tailored to these findings.
  • Explore suitable methods and resources for meeting activity needs, including group events and individual sessions, drawing from internal and external sources and community-based initiatives.
  • Organize theme-based and fundraising events as required, taking into account local holidays and traditions.
  • Arrange outings as necessary, considering safety requirements and staffing levels.
  • Manage monthly activity budgets for entertainment, materials, and outings in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure risk assessments have been conducted on all activities and outings.
  • Publish regular newsletters in compliance with company newsletter procedures.
  • Take photos of residents around the home, develop engaging content, and update social media pages daily.
About You
  • A valid right to live and work in the UK (please note, sponsorship is not available).
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team, possess a caring nature, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety protocols.
  • An appreciation of the emotional, social, physical, psychological, and intellectual needs of vulnerable individuals.
  • The capacity to engage others in recreational activities.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a care home is desirable but not essential.
