About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Well-being and Activities Coordinator to join our team at Westgate House Care Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying residents' activity needs and wishes, producing a varied programme based on these findings, and exploring the most appropriate methods and resources for meeting activity needs.

The ideal candidate will have a caring nature, a positive attitude, and an understanding of Health and Safety. Previous experience in a similar position in a care home is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Identifying residents' activity needs and wishes through discussion, assessment, and observation, and producing a varied programme based on these findings
  • Exploring the most appropriate methods and resources for meeting activity needs, including group events and individual sessions, involving internal and external sources and involving community-based resources
  • Organising theme and fund-raising events as required, based on local holidays, traditions, etc
  • Organising outings as appropriate, giving consideration to safety needs and staffing requirements
  • Managing monthly activity budgets for entertainment, materials, and outings in accordance with Company procedures
  • Ensuring risk assessments have been carried out on all activities and outings
  • Producing newsletters in accordance with the company newsletter procedure
  • Taking photos of our residents around the home, creating engaging content, and updating our social media pages on a daily basis

  • Has a positive attitude and an understanding of Health and Safety
  • Has an understanding of emotional, social, physical, psychological, and intellectual needs of vulnerable people
  • Able to engage others in recreational activities
