About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English teacher to join our team at Castle Hill High School, a special school for students with significant and complex needs. As a KS4 SEN English Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching GCSE and Entry Level English to our students, who have Education Health and Care Plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach GCSE and Entry Level English to students with complex needs, using a range of teaching strategies to engage and support learners.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of our students, including those with communication and social interaction difficulties, cognition and learning difficulties, and autistic spectrum disorder.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement a broad and balanced education that furthers the inclusive character of our school.
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning, and to support the work of the whole school.
  • Contribute to the development of the school's curriculum and policies, and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of teaching English to students with complex needs, including those with SEN.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and with parents and carers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
