About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Governance and Risk team as an AML Risk Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective risk management and compliance standards at Capsticks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Respond to legal compliance queries on a range of topics, including SRA compliance, information security incidents, and data breaches.
  2. Log, track, and monitor queries received, ensuring timely resolution.
  3. Assist with subject access and data deletion requests.
  4. Deliver compliance training to new joiners and on an ad hoc basis.
  5. Prepare reports and papers for various committees.
  6. Assist with external audits and internal audits for firm accreditations.
  7. Attend legal divisional meetings to report on governance and risk issues.
  8. Work with compliance champions to promote good governance and risk management.
  9. Draft and update policies and procedures.
  10. Suggest and monitor improvements.
  11. Undertake horizon scanning for new developments in the G&R sphere.
  12. Create and circulate compliance alerts and updates.
Requirements
  1. Educated to degree standard or equivalent work experience.
  2. Experience in a law firm or knowledge of SRA Handbook, SRA Code of Conduct, and AML Regulations.
  3. Understanding of current compliance topics.
  4. Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage expectations.
  5. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation.
  6. Ability to tailor communications to different audiences.
  7. Willingness to learn new subject areas and skills.
  8. Demonstrable experience of working in a team.
  9. Commitment to meeting high standards and attention to detail.
  10. Self-motivated proactive approach and ability to manage workload.
  11. Willingness to share ideas and suggest improvements.
