The Fire Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Trust is compliant with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Firecode HTM-05-01 Managing Healthcare Fire Safety.
- Deliver fire safety training to staff.
- Undertake fire risk assessments in all premises managed by the Trust.
- Review and develop fire safety related policies, procedures, and practices.
- Convene the Trust Fire Safety Group and deputise where the FS manager cannot attend.
- Investigate and follow up on fire safety incidents.
- Coordinate and prepare fire safety audits.
- Plan and simulate fire evacuations with managers and staff.
To be proactive in raising awareness of fire safety issues by:
- Designing and implementing training programmes.
- Providing an introduction to fire safety.
- Providing training and refresher training courses for Trust staff.
Maintain the Trust's risk register with regard to fire safety risks.
Advise on fire safety requirements for capital projects in conjunction with external advisors.
Maintain records of fire risk assessments, fire safety audits, and fire incidents.
About the RoleThis is a key role within the Trust, requiring a high level of expertise in fire safety management.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Master's level education or equivalent.
- Professional qualification in fire safety.
- Experience in fire safety within the NHS or large public sector organisations.
- Ability to assess, develop, and deliver comprehensive fire training and lectures.
