Associate Design Director

An Associate Design Director at Electric Square:

  • Has a deep understanding of game design principles, with a focus on genres and projects in development.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends, successes, and failures to inform design decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and champion the studio's design strategy, ensuring exceptional quality across all projects.
  • Prioritize tasks and features, ensuring timely delivery and meeting quality standards.
  • Effectively manage team time, ensuring all work is completed to schedule and quality expectations.

Staff Management:

  • Supports work experience and university outreach initiatives to attract top talent.
  • Collaborates with the Design Director to evaluate candidates and performance manage underperforming staff.
  • Contributes to the overall management of the design department, including annual appraisals and career progression planning.

Communication:

  • Delivers clear, concise written communication across projects, pitches, and studio-wide documentation.
  • Participates in the design section of the staff plan, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements

We're looking for a seasoned professional with:

  • Five shipped titles, with a minimum of two as lead.
  • At least eight years of experience in the games industry.
