Associate Design Director

An Associate Design Director at Electric Square:

  • Has a deep understanding of game design principles, with a focus on genres and projects in development.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends, successes, and failures to inform design decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the studio's design strategy, ensuring exceptional quality across all projects.
  • Prioritize tasks and features, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Lead teams and departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and timely delivery.

Staff Management:

  • Supports work experience and university outreach initiatives, fostering talent development.
  • Collaborates with the Design Director to evaluate candidates and staff performance.
  • Assists in managing the design department, ensuring career progression and performance management.

Communication:

  • Delivers clear, concise written communication across projects, pitches, and studio-wide documentation.
  • Contributes to the design section of the staff plan, ensuring effective team alignment.
Requirements

We're looking for a seasoned professional with:

  • Five shipped titles, with at least two as lead designer.
  • At least eight years of experience in the games industry.
