Senior Applied Clinical / Forensic / Counselling Psychologist:

Sandwell Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Applied Clinical / Forensic / Counselling Psychologist to join our Sandwell CRHTT team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work in a fast-paced environment to provide psychological assessments, formulation, care planning, and brief psychological interventions to individuals presenting with acute and urgent care mental health needs.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to exercise their leadership skills and contribute to the development of our team's psychological services. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to our service users.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological assessments, formulation, care planning, and brief psychological interventions to individuals presenting with acute and urgent care mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to our service users.
  • Contribute to the development of our team's psychological services and provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Participate in regular reflective practice groups and supervision to ensure high-quality care and support.

Person Specification:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • HCPC registration as An Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status.
  • Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Working as a qualified applied psychologist within a Mental Health service including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and a range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice relevant to the role of working with people's complex mental health difficulties.
  • Risk assessment and risk management.

Desirable:

  • Registration with BPS.
