Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Engineer to join our team as a Specialist Instructional Officer at the Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will be responsible for delivering world-class technical training to RAF Engineers and developing the next generation of aircraft engineers.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be involved in developing and delivering training programs that will boost employee performance and confidence, as well as developing service core candidates. You will be required to conduct training needs assessments, create and deliver theoretical and practical curricula in an exciting and well-supported training environment.

The ideal candidate should be able to communicate complex concepts effectively to a diverse student audience, be well-organized, proficient in time management, and project confidence in public speaking skills. They will be required to be both strategic and reactive, assessing the skills and knowledge within the group and determining what training is needed to grow and nurture individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery of training theory and practical
  • Preparing reports on students' performance (academic and behavioural)
  • Preparing and conducting practical assessments, including marking and recording
  • Developing and controlling training documents and other delivery media
  • Proposing improvements to training design and content
  • General course administration
  • Additional support duties crucial for the safe conduct of training and welfare of students
Requirements
  • NVQ Lvl 3 in Aircraft Engineering or Equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

Please note that this is a non-contractual arrangement, and all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office.
