The Corporate Governance Team

The Corporate Governance team within Bloomberg's Legal & Compliance Department works closely with senior management and business partners to design and manage the governance framework for our global businesses. This includes our regulated businesses. We are seeking a talented Corporate Governance Counsel to support Bloomberg in promoting excellent standards of governance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advise stakeholders on compliance with governance practices, laws, and regulations.
  2. Draft and review agreements and governance materials.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues in Legal & Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Accounting, Tax, and Treasury to form new entities, set up businesses, and execute on corporate structure initiatives.
  4. Lead board meeting preparation cycles by drafting materials, minutes, and resolutions and shape content with board members and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
  1. A solid foundation in corporate law principles, with at least 1-3 years' PQE practicing corporate law at a top law firm.
  2. A license to practice law in England & Wales, or another Commonwealth territory with eligibility to practice in England & Wales.
  3. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to translate complex legal concepts into digestible content for business leaders and other non-legal teams.
  4. Proactive attitude and approach to managing projects and leading initiatives, including the ability to balance multiple matters simultaneously and determine when and how to prioritize.
  5. Knowledge of financial regulatory regimes.
