About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Palliative Medicine Specialist to join our team at Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, holistic care to patients and their families, and contribute to the development of our palliative care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to junior medical staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance processes, ensuring the maintenance of high-quality services.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, clinical and audit meetings, and contribute to the educational programs provided by the hospice for multidisciplinary health professionals.
  • Develop and maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other members of the medical and wider multi-professional team to provide holistic medical care, supporting the junior medical team and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Eligibility for full registration with, and hold current licence to practice from the GMC at intended start date.
  • Evidence of achievement of foundation competencies from a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or equivalent.
  • Advanced communication skills training.
  • Minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate medical experience, with at least 2 years in Palliative Medicine or an allied specialty.
  • Experience of teaching to various audiences, clinical audit, and using an electronic patient record system.
