Job Summary

The role of a Palliative Medicine Specialist at Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care is to provide high-quality, holistic care to patients and their families. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and contribute to the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to junior team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical governance processes, participating in patient safety activities, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the medical team at external meetings and participate in service development within local systems.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Education team to deliver teaching and training to healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the provision of holistic medical care, working closely with other members of the medical and multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Eligibility for full registration with the GMC and a current license to practice.
  • Evidence of achievement of foundation competencies from a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or equivalent.
  • Advanced communication skills training.
  • Minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate medical experience, with at least 2 years in Palliative Medicine or an allied specialty.
  • Experience of teaching to various audiences.
  • Evidence of experience in clinical audit.
