Job Summary

The role of a Palliative Medicine Specialist at Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care is to provide high-quality, holistic care to patients and their families. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and contribute to the development of our palliative care services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to junior team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance processes, ensuring the maintenance of high-quality services.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, clinical and audit meetings, and contribute to the educational programs provided by the hospice.
  • Develop and maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the medical team at external meetings, promoting the work of Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care and contributing to service development within local systems.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Eligibility for full registration with, and hold current licence to practice from the GMC at intended start date.
  • Evidence of achievement of foundation competencies from a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or equivalent.
  • Advanced communication skills training.
  • Minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate medical experience, with at least 2 years in Palliative Medicine or an allied specialty.
  • Experience of teaching to various audiences, clinical audit, and using an electronic patient record system.
