Role Description:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Press Officer to join our team in Devon, focusing on creating compelling weather content that resonates with the public and media. In this exciting new position, you will collaborate with the Press Office and Content Team to develop engaging scripts, blogs, social media posts, and more.

About the Team: Our Communications and Engagement team is dedicated to effectively communicating the daily weather forecast and its broader context. As a member of this team, you will contribute to developing and implementing innovative strategies to engage with the public and media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality, accurate, and engaging written weather content that aligns with the wider news context.
  • Collaborate with content producers, presenters, and press officers to ensure consistency with the organizational brand.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for weather stories within the news agenda.
  • Establish and nurture contacts to source impactful stories and broaden their media uptake.
  • Help define and develop the organization's future written weather offerings to maximize engagement and impact.

Requirements: Solid understanding of the news media, publishing, and social landscape. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Salary: Approximately £42,000 - £52,000 per annum.
