Specialist Drama Teacher for SEN Students

Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Drama Teacher to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust. As a specialist Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs.
About the Role
This is a full-time permanent position based in Wandsworth, London. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Drama or Performing Arts, particularly to students with special educational needs. You will be responsible for developing and delivering individualized learning plans, collaborating with the SEN team, and organizing performances and drama workshops.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging drama lessons tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs.
- Create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves.
- Use drama techniques to help students build confidence, enhance communication skills, and foster teamwork.
- Collaborate with the SEN team to create and implement individualized learning plans for students.
- Organize performances and drama workshops to showcase students' talents and progress.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Drama or Performing Arts, particularly to students with special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for fostering creativity and self-expression.
- A clear DBS check.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this position is £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
