Sustainability Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity at our Settle Dairy in North Yorkshire to drive sustainable initiatives, including waste management, energy efficiency, and renewable energy projects.

• Identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities, and implement measures to reduce our carbon footprint, water usage, waste generation, and energy consumption.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance programmes across complex equipment, including steam & boiler, refrigeration, effluent treatment plant, hot & cold water systems, HVAC, cooling tower, air compressors, HV & LV systems.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive sustainability initiatives, including local community engagement and supplier sustainability assessments.
• Monitor and report on sustainability performance metrics, providing regular updates to site management and the wider Arla Foods sustainability team.

We are looking for a skilled professional with a recognised time served apprenticeship in a multiskilled engineering discipline, ideally with HNC/HND. The ideal candidate will have a positive and resilient approach to problem-solving, team working, and continuous improvement.

• A strong commercial ability to lead negotiations with 3rd party partners.
• A proven background across similar complex process environments, including Food / Brewing / Pharmaceutical/ Chemical.
• Experience utilising Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) – SAP Maintenance Module and SCADA visualisations.

The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
