About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pensions Administrator to join our team at Aptia Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting clients and scheme members on complex queries and calculations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with clients and scheme members on complex queries via letter, email, and telephone.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the scheme details administered in the team and ensure activities are processed in line with the scheme rules.
  • Perform complex pensions calculations, enter pensions data, and answer enquiries to the required standard using automated and non-automated manual/system processes.
  • Perform checking activity as required to support team members and use MI reporting to monitor progress for member, client, and scheme event work.
  • Ensure errors, omissions, and complaints are handled in accordance with agreed procedures and within appropriate timescales.
  • Monitor project income and work with your manager to ensure client projects are delivered on plan and to budget.
  • Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue within your client group, ensuring requests for additional work are identified and costs calculated and confirmed.
  • Keep abreast of technical developments, procedural, and legislative changes, able to discuss and act upon the implications.
Requirements
  • Experience liaising with clients and trustees.
  • Ability to perform complex pension calculations and peer review other calculations to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of member calculation processes, Defined Benefit (DB) scheme knowledge, scheme types, and governing legislation issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK pensions legislation.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to analyse and improve processes.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. PMI) - desirable.
