Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Austin Fraser is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their manufacturing site in Diss. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment runs smoothly through proactive maintenance and prompt responses to breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all aspects of continuous improvement, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Understand and carry out the plant start-up and shutdown procedure, ensuring minimal downtime and maximizing productivity.
  • Conduct regular checks and tests on plant and equipment as required by the PPM Schedule or other sources, reporting any issues or concerns to the Engineering Team Leader.
  • Record all work completed on the Planned Maintenance System, providing accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities.
  • Read, understand, and work to machine manufacturers' handbook instructions and drawings, applying technical knowledge to resolve complex problems.
  • Assist in the training of colleagues from other departments as required, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Be available to work through any plant shutdown on maintenance tasks or continuous improvement projects, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Understand the Company's ISO 9001 Procedures and Work Instructions, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision, taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities, and ensuring good communication with all colleagues and supervision.
  • Support a progressive departmental attitude towards Health & Safety, ensuring that all corporate requirements are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate will possess engineering experience within manufacturing environments, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. A recognised engineering qualification is also required.

This is a full-time permanent position on Panama shift days, with a competitive salary range of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include a pension scheme, life assurance, and access to Sage Employee Benefits.
