A&P Group is seeking an experienced Trades Trainer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of welding and plating. As a Trades Trainer, you will be responsible for providing hands-on instruction to apprentices, ensuring they develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on training to apprentices, teaching them proper techniques and offering guidance to ensure their skills develop.
  • Support the apprentice on-boarding and site induction process, ensuring they get off to a good start and understand PPE and safe working practices.
  • Work with the Training Officer and Fabrication team to design, develop, and improve onsite training modules to apprenticeship standards and regulations.
  • Arrange tests and exams for apprentices, ensuring they are prepared to pass legislative trade tests.
  • Regularly review progress against objectives, ensuring training continues to be effective.
  • Maintain equipment with apprentices, ensuring it is in good working condition and safe.
What We're Looking For:
  • A desire to pass on knowledge and experience to the next generation of engineers.
  • Ability to engage with, mentor, and challenge young adults.
  • Experience in industry that has taught you what good looks like.
  • Experience in general welding and plating practices, including MIG, TIG, and MMA.
  • Knowledge of Welding and Fabrication Apprenticeship regulations and standards (although training will be provided).
