Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Adaptable Recruitment. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing traction shifts, creating work on our transport management system, and liaising with customers regarding load opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the movement of goods and materials, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Create and update transport plans, taking into account customer requirements and logistical constraints.
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates on load opportunities and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Broker load opportunities with third-party haulage partners, ensuring seamless execution of transport operations.
  • Reconcile customer orders with transport plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Organize and respond to customer enquiries, providing prompt and professional service.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new hauliers, ensuring a smooth transition into our logistics network.
  • Support new customer sales, providing expert advice on logistics and transport solutions.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a transport planning environment, with a strong understanding of logistics and transport operations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
