About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Volunteer Programme Manager to lead our heritage project for two years. This is a fixed-term contract funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers. Your tasks will include archiving and cataloguing physical collections, collecting and transcribing oral histories, and identifying new volunteer opportunities as the project evolves.

You will ensure that our volunteering practices prioritize accessibility and inclusion. Additionally, you will oversee reporting requirements and deliver engagement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage and oversee the first two years of the heritage project.
  • Manage relationships with members, stakeholders, partners, experts, and report on project progress.
  • Scope and support additional funding opportunities and project development.
  • Line manage the part-time Heritage Volunteer Coordinator, ensuring they have the necessary support to engage and recruit volunteers.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Demonstrable experience in project management, archiving, or relevant fields.
  2. Qualification within the heritage sector.
  3. Experience in high-quality project report writing.
  4. Grant and/or contract management experience.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is £35,000-£40,000, depending on experience. The position includes benefits suitable for the industry standard.
