Job Overview

Verto People is a leading supplier of mechanical engineering products based in Staffordshire, UK. We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Product Specialist to join our team as a Workshop Engineer / Workshop Fitter / Mechanical Engineer.

This role requires providing service, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines, pumps, and related products at our workshop in Staffordshire. The ideal candidate will have experience fitting and servicing industrial mechanical engineering products, including pumps, engines, motors, gearboxes, valves, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, generators, or other similar mechanical engineering products.

The successful candidate will have a good mechanical engineering background with experience in the industry, holding an engineering qualification of NVQ Level or higher. Willingness to commute to the workshop in Staffordshire is required.

We offer a competitive salary package, including £36,000 per year, overtime pay, pension scheme, life insurance, and additional benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Provide service, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines, pumps, and related products at our workshop in Staffordshire.
  • Be responsible for inspection and testing of all rental equipment returned to branch, including fault finding and diagnostic work of pumps, engines, and related ancillary products.
  • Ensure that all pump and engine products meet manufacturing specifications before leaving the workshop for delivery.
  • Complete technical documentation as work progresses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time and liaise with various engineering departments.

Requirements
  • Experience as a workshop engineer, workshop fitter, pump engineer, pump fitter, fitter, hydraulic fitter, hydraulic engineer, valve technician, installation engineer, pump installation engineer, mechanical fitter, electro-mechanical fitter, mechanical engineer, service engineer, or similar.
  • Good mechanical engineering background with experience in the industry.
  • Engineering qualification of NVQ Level or higher.
  • Willingness to commute to the workshop in Staffordshire.
