Audio Visual Technician

Job Overview
Messiah College is seeking a skilled Audio Visual Technician to join our team. This part-time student position requires flexibility and ability to work under pressure.

About the Role
This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining sound, lighting, and video equipment for university events. The successful candidate will have a willingness to learn and take direction. The position includes working long hours, including early mornings and late nights, as well as frequent night and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include setting up, monitoring, troubleshooting, and tearing down audio visual equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for organizing technical equipment, performing equipment repairs and maintenance, transporting equipment around campus, and maintaining inventory and storage facilities. Additionally, the role involves communicating with the Sound & Lighting Technical Coordinator and maintaining consistent attendance.

Working Conditions
This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from heights while standing on a ladder or lift. The successful candidate must wear close-toed shoes at all times. A salary of $12-$15 per hour is offered, depending on experience. An estimated annual salary is $24,960-$31,200 based on a 20-hour workweek.

Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have a major in Engineering, Communications, Computer Science, Music, or Digital Media. Experience with sound or lighting setup and operation, customer service, and digital audio consoles is helpful. The successful candidate will be a flexible and independent individual with the ability to work under pressure.
