Event Support Specialist

Messiah College is seeking an Audio Visual Technician to support our events team. This part-time student position requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.
About the Role
In this role, the successful candidate will set up, operate, and maintain sound, lighting, and video equipment for university events. The job involves working independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth event execution. The position includes working long hours, including early mornings and late nights, as well as frequent night and weekend work. A salary of $12-$15 per hour is offered, depending on experience. An estimated annual salary is $24,960-$31,200 based on a 20-hour workweek.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include setting up, monitoring, troubleshooting, and tearing down audio visual equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for organizing technical equipment, performing equipment repairs and maintenance, transporting equipment around campus, and maintaining inventory and storage facilities. Additionally, the role involves communicating with the Sound & Lightning Technical Coordinator and maintaining consistent attendance.
