Career Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Environment Business at Galliford Try.
In this role, you will work on our Yorkshire Water Frameworks, delivering schemes of varying sizes to the Water Industry. You will be based in or around the Normanton area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial administration, reporting, and performance on a single large project or several smaller schemes. Your day-to-day tasks will include producing Subcontract documentation, negotiating terms and conditions, prices, and programme, and managing subcontract works packages.
You will also be responsible for producing and issuing all commercial notices, managing change in a timely manner, and producing Compensation Event Quotations. Your role will be an essential link in the supply chain, liaising with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are kept to the standard required.
You will play a pivotal role in weekly progress and risk reduction meetings, producing, submitting, and agreeing monthly applications to the Client, and presenting detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliation's (CVR) and 'Cost Plans'. You will track and forecast expenditure and liabilities as required by the business unit or project.
It is essential that you have experience of working on large single or multiple smaller schemes with solid knowledge of construction processes. A professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS is desirable. You will have an astute appreciation of standard forms of contract and strong IT skills, including Excel, Word & Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
