Environmental Response Technician

RSK Group Limited is seeking an experienced Environmental Response Technician to join our team in Rotherham, UK.

We offer a wide range of environmental protection and risk reduction services to various industries and clients across the UK, specializing in spill response, contamination investigation, and remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to environmental incidents in urban and rural settings, assessing pollution risks and containing and recovering contaminants.
  • Support general groundworks under the supervision of senior colleagues on site.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring, sample collection, and logging, as well as installation and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems.
  • Supervise subcontractors and perform other site responsibilities, including waste management and duty of care.
  • Inspect and maintain oil storage areas, electrical transformer bunds, oil water separators, and associated infrastructure.
  • Perform decontamination, deep cleaning, drainage, and utilities inspections, as well as routine care maintenance and calibration of equipment and vehicles.
  • Manage stock and adhere to RSK Group Limited's management systems, including site-specific and point-of-work health and safety risk assessments and method statements.
  • Maintain accurate site notes and excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Develop positive relations with clients and stakeholders by ensuring high-quality work and presentation.
  • Manage information and occasionally write reports.
Additional Information:
  • We operate a 24/7 response service, requiring occasional work outside normal hours.
  • Travel may be required to cover business needs throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.
  • Incident response and tank testing training is provided, along with other development opportunities.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • A full, clean driving license is essential.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office are required.
  • Utilities, civil, or construction site experience is desirable.
  • Excavator/dumper experience or certification is desirable.
  • Basic project management experience is desirable.
  • A BSc in a relevant environmental field is desirable.
  • CSCS and first aid certifications are desirable.
Salary and Benefits:

Salary up to £29,000 depending on experience.
