Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Learning Disability Team. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients with complex needs, including those with distressed behavior and dual diagnosis.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, including those with additional physical health needs, behaviors that challenge, and mental health needs.
  • Assess, plan, and implement, monitor, and evaluate client-centered individual and/or group interventions using specialized occupational therapy assessments and approaches.
  • Develop individual programs of care working with the client, carers, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide advice to staff, clients, and carers relating to clinical interventions, policy, and service development.
  • Engage in the training of staff, families, and carers.
  • Supervise and assess occupational therapy students on practice placements within the organization.
  • Contribute to the recruitment, induction, and training of other staff and students within or external to the organization.
  • Provide supervision, including practice, caseload, line management, and appraisals to junior staff as agreed with the clinical lead.
  • Ensure that contemporaneous, written, and electronic records, specialist occupational therapy reports, and activity data are maintained in accordance with professional and organization standards.
