About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at YHA Brecon Beacons. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Hostel Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the hostel and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Hostel Manager in achieving targets across all aspects of hostel operation, including food and beverage, and maximizing revenue while controlling expenditure.
  • Manage a team of employees and occasional volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to the team effort in the day-to-day operation of the hostel, undertaking housekeeping, reception, and food and beverage tasks as required.
  • Support the management of an operational budget and delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
  • Previous leadership experience and experience managing budgets.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage varying workloads.
  • Knowledge and understanding of YHA's core purpose and values.
  • Experience working in a team environment and ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications desirable.
