We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Financial Services to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial advice and leadership to our clients.
About the Role:This is a strategic role within the council, requiring engagement with council members, officers, and partners. You will lead a team that supports all aspects of finance, from strategic finance to budget setting and monitoring, treasury management, and transactional finance.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide strategic financial advice and leadership to the council and its partners.
- Lead a team of finance professionals to deliver high-quality financial services.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the council's goals and objectives.
- Manage and monitor budgets, financial reports, and other financial data.
- Collaborate with senior officers and council members to ensure effective financial decision-making.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in finance, with experience in local government.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Able to motivate and support a team of finance professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively across team and service boundaries.
