Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RGN) to join our Health Visiting Team as a Staff Nurse (Health Visiting Team) Band 5. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide preventative and supportive healthcare to children and families in Wiltshire.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Work within the boundaries of the Staff Nurse Competency framework to deliver high-quality care to children and families.
  2. Contribute to the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Health Visiting Team.
  3. Work in partnership with children and families to identify health needs and provide appropriate support to achieve positive outcomes.
  4. Support Early Years Services in the community, including Children's Centres and Early Years settings.
  5. Adhere to the Baby Friendly Initiative Standards to support infant feeding and parent-infant relationships.
  6. Complete the Family Health Needs assessment for allocated mandated reviews and update the SCPHN (Health Visitor) with any areas of concern.
Requirements
  1. NMC registration in a field of nursing.
  2. Experience in working with children and families.
  3. Holds a full driving license and car ownership.
  4. Knowledge of national and local policy in Children's Services and Public Health.
  5. Understanding of child development.
  6. Ability to promote and safeguard the welfare of children and families, with skills to build sustainable professional boundaries.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues in plain language at all levels.
  8. Ability to work alone and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  9. Evidence of effective teamwork.
  10. Demonstrates an interest in public health and Health Visiting.
  11. Ability to work flexibly to respond to service needs.
  12. Computer literate.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  1. Registered Children's Nurse.
  2. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
