About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Autism Support Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with our Practice Development Team and Autism Services teams to embed supported decision-making in everyday practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise practitioners on how to achieve supported decision-making for autistic people with learning disabilities and/or high support needs.
  • Support efforts to facilitate access to community activities, autistic spaces, and democratic processes.
  • Develop and implement a Leadership Development Programme to empower autistic individuals to advocate for their rights and needs.
  • Ensure the meaningful inclusion of autistic people in organisational communications and campaigning.
  • Establish and facilitate an Autistic Advisory Panel to inform strategic organisational decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and innovate within the organisation.
  • Commitment to participatory approaches and distilling complex information into key messages.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills to work with diverse individuals.
