We are seeking an exceptional Education Support Worker to join our team at Philosophy Education, working with children who have behavioural and mental health needs in schools across Southwark.

About the Opportunity:

This is a unique chance for an Education Support Worker to contribute positively to the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Additional Support Needs (ASN). The ideal candidate will be adaptable, enthusiastic about supporting children with SEND, and available for daily temp work. This role offers a chance to work closely with experienced professionals, including therapists, healthcare professionals, and CAMHS.

About the Job:

As a specialist Education Support Worker, you will work with pupils aged 5-11 years old in various settings, including classrooms, mentoring sessions, and break times. You will support pupils with identified behaviour, SEMH, SEN, including ASD needs. Some pupils may display more challenging behaviour, but don't worry, we provide training in suitable interventions and approaches.

You will work closely with the school's SENCO, senior management team, and outside agencies to deliver comprehensive support to the child. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in group settings
  • Supporting pupils in mentoring sessions and during break times
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for supporting pupils

The estimated salary for this role is £26,250 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A solid understanding of child mental health or a willingness to learn and support children with additional needs
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility, including availability for daily temp work
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
