About the Service

Harrow HTT is a multidisciplinary and community-based service that provides a safe and effective home-based assessment and treatment service. It works in conjunction with other local service elements and is available 12 hours a day, 365 days a year. The service responds quickly and works closely with the Single Point of Access, acting as a gatekeeper to in-patient and emergency services. Service users usually remain under the care of the team for 2-6 weeks.

The Northwick Park Mental Health Unit has an ECT suite, two adult wards, the home treatment team, the psychiatric liaison service, and the Harrow management team. Consultant and junior doctor offices are based within the management suite, ensuring that ward staff feel part of the broader Harrow mental health service.

In line with the NHS 10-year long-term plan, CNWL is committed to embedding Open Dialogue and a Trauma-Informed Approach across our mental health services. All adult staff receive training and supervision in this approach, and our plan is to rollout both Open Dialogue and Trauma-Informed Approach for our older adult services.

The postholder will provide clinical leadership for the team, ensuring best practice is employed, and that the Trust's quality and productivity targets are met. They will also contribute to the continuous development of the HTT and other parts of the services as required.

Participation in and leadership of quality improvement projects and clinical audits is also expected. Senior medical responsibility for the care carried out by the HTT, including involvement in joint planning of future service developments, is also a key aspect of the role.

Close liaison with the acute wards to facilitate discharge planning is also required.
