Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Construction Manager to join our team at FJ Booth Construction Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our construction sites, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and motivate a team of site-based staff to achieve health, safety, and environmental performance standards.
  2. Ensure compliance with company health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  3. Monitor progress of construction projects to ensure that methods and timescales are met, and take corrective action to bring progress back in line.
  4. Agree and manage equipment, plant, staffing, and sub-contract requirements for the site.
  5. Work with the office to respond to queries from trades and take action accordingly.
  6. Work with the office to manage the recruitment and induction of new employees in line with company best practice guidelines.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in a site construction environment, including effective manpower management, client-facing meetings, planning, and programming challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications, including a valid SMSTS certificate, full UK driving license, CSCS card at Site Manager level or equivalent, BTEC diploma in Building Construction or NVQ Level 3 or 4 or similar.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a site manager, with the ability to chair and run meetings, and a proven track record of motivating staff and managing a site effectively.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation.
  • Experience with the preparation of all health and safety paperwork.
