About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Application Manager to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic roadmap for our application portfolio, aligning it with our business objectives and technology trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Lifecycle Management
    • Manage the entire lifecycle of applications, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure applications meet quality standards, performance targets, and user expectations.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead a team of developers, testers, and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster their professional growth and success.
  • Vendor Management
    • Collaborate with software vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate, select, and integrate off-the-shelf applications.
  • Project Management
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of application development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Communication
    • Coordinate resources, manage risks, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Establish and enforce policies, standards, and best practices for application development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and industry frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT).
  • Business Partnership
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, priorities, and challenges.
  • Technology Advocacy
    • Advocate for the adoption of technology solutions that drive business value, improve efficiency, and enhance customer experience.
  • Change Management
    • Implement processes and procedures for managing changes to applications, including software updates, patches, enhancements, and migrations.
  • Performance Optimization
    • Monitor the performance and availability of applications, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide a second-line support role, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Network Maintenance
    • Undertake routine network maintenance, including backups, security and virus protection measures, user account management, and log maintenance.
  • Software Installation
    • Test and install new software, hardware, and peripherals within the level of competence.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Application Manager who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Experience as an Application Manager or similar role, with NetSuite ERP and Boomi.
  • Skills
    • End-to-end functional, process, and technical knowledge of NetSuite.
    • Strong management skills, capable of leading a team in line with the company strategy.
    • Experience of testing software, reviewing code created by other team members, and actively contributing to the continuous improvement ethos within the team.
    • Implementing new standard practices and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Ability to liaise with stakeholders to ascertain requirements.
    • Experience of reviewing document changes, technical designs, updating manuals, and release notes.
    • Willingness to continuously improve knowledge and stay up to date with the latest development techniques and technology.
    • High technical understanding of IT systems and interface methods.
    • Experience of Business Case development, with experience of managing Supplier SLA's and relationships to develop and deliver effective solutions.
    • Customer-focused and able to deal effectively with end-user problems.
    • Ability to motivate, collaborate with, and lead others with a successful track record in providing direction and managing performance of staff.
    • Experience of identifying and implementing significant process improvements to deliver quantifiable business improvement.
    • Ability to solve problems and think analytically.
    • Strong organisational, project, and time management skills.
    • Technical experience of managing core business applications, ensuring they are secure, stable, and fit for purpose.

  • Integration, Customization, and Support Experience
    • Integration, customization, and support experience.
  • Technical Skills
    • Understanding of JavaScript, structured query language (PL/SQL), and relational database design.
    • Experience working with Agile development frameworks.
    • Front-end development experience using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React.
  • Certifications
    • Preferred Certifications: NetSuite Suite Cloud Developer II, Administrator.
