About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team at The Avalon Centre. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in creating an activity-based culture that promotes social, recreational, and leisure activities for our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate social and recreational activities for service users within the secure environment.
  • Obtain information from service users regarding their social and recreational interests.
  • Observe and report on the general behaviour, ability, and response of service users.
  • Document observations and progress in the service user's clinical notes.
  • Fulfill security requirements and adhere to service policies and procedures.
  • Conduct basic risk assessments and ensure health and safety standards are met.
Requirements
  • Basic group work skills.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a mental health setting (desirable).
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Initiative and motivation.
  • Awareness of mental health and its impact on functioning.
  • Solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Awareness of gender-specific and cultural needs.
