Customer Service Director

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Customer Support Director to join our team at Exeter City Council. As a key member of our Operational Management Board, you will play a crucial role in delivering our corporate ambitions and priorities by providing strategic and operational support to our Customers & Communities service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with stakeholders to drive the delivery of our services and ensure excellent customer experience.
- Provide inspirational leadership and management to our workforce, creating a professional and supportive environment that champions equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Be a proactive member of our operational management team, ensuring a collaborative approach to leadership at operational level.
- Lead the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Work with local political leadership to ensure that elected members' will is expressed and understood by Council officers.
- Develop an organisational culture that is open to innovation, continuous improvement, and the development of new models of service delivery.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in customer service management and leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive business improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and lead cross-functional projects.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices, with a focus on delivering excellent customer experience.
