About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and empathetic individual to join our Bereavement Services team as a Bereavement Support Officer. In this role, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our bereavement services, working closely with medical and nursing staff, funeral directors, and other external agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for the bereavement services team, including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
  • Act as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, responding to queries and providing information and support.
  • Communicate with bereaved families and individuals, providing sensitive and empathetic support and guidance.
  • Ensure that all deceased patients' property is properly documented and stored in accordance with departmental guidelines and processes.
  • Respond to queries and complaints from members of the public, funeral directors, and bereaved families, escalating to the manager when required.
