Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced professional in biodiversity and ecology to join our team as a Biodiversity Officer.

Salary: £40 per hour (equivalent to approximately £15,120 per annum based on a 37-hour workweek).

Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the development and implementation of biodiversity strategies and initiatives.
  • To assess and mitigate the impact of development projects on biodiversity.
  • To work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve conservation goals.

Requirements:

  • A qualification in ecology or a related field.
  • Practical experience in biodiversity net gain assessments.
  • A proven track record of working within local authority teams.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • Strong knowledge of wildlife law, policies, and procedures relevant to planning and development.
  • Proficiency in IT tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Access) and specific biodiversity software.
